Where?
Kovalam Beach is 16kms away towards the south of Trivandrum city.
Why Kovalam Beach?
It is a famous tourist spot since 1930s. The golden sand with an ornament of coconut trees make this place favorite of wayfarer. Travelers find peaceful time in lovely Ayuvedic parlors, meditation and yoga centers, which are all over the places. You can also relive the environment with the traditional kathakali dance, which is performed by local artist every evening.
What else?
Kovalam beach is divided into three beaches the most popular lighthouse beach, hawah beach and the samudra beach. To the south of lighthouse beach is beautiful Vizhinzam mosque, though tourists are not permitted to take photographs here but the experience is fabulous and mind-boggling. Local fisherman visits the hawah beach every morning. It is their hub. The northern beach that is the samudra beach is least affected by time.
How do I get there?
There are direct bus services from Thiruvananthapuram. You can also take Buses also from Ernakulam, Kanyakumari via Periyar, which is a wildlife sanctuary. International Airport and railway at Thiruvananthapuram serves the purpose.

Beachwear and Sunscreen lotion are must. Do carry handy cam or digital camera to capture the heaven and to refresh your memories time and again. Also carry some extra cash to this beach for shopping, as there are handicraft, jewellery, and clothes shops all over.
