Kerala has long been known as vacation spot for young couples who go there for a heavenly break from the chaos of a city. But apart from this, it s also a perfect spot to take your family on a fun filled vacation.

Kerala offers a lot of activities which can be termed as family oriented. Being one of the prime cultural hubs of India as well as a place of religion, the southern state is the perfect place to take kids as well as elderly members of the family.

Certain activities that can be carried out by the whole family include the following:

A Ride on the Backwaters:

Starting from Alappuzha, the backwater ride is the perfect way to spend some quality time with your family while admiring the beauty of the calm river around you. On the banks of the river, one can observe the life of the people when the boat stops at certain villages. The ride starts early in the morning and reaches its destination by Sunset.

Visiting Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary:

One of the country’s best animal sanctuaries, the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is the perfect place to take children. The sanctuary is huge and a variety of animal species can be observed. Apart from this, the sanctuary offers other activities like trekking, ecotours etc. The sanctuary also has a stay facility where families can stay in cottages or tree houses.

Kochi Synagogue and Hill Place Meuseum:

The famous synagogue was build in the year 1568 and is a highlight of the great cultural history of this country. On the way to the holy place, you will pass through Jewish Street, where various trinkets are sold. The synagogue is the perfect place to teach young kids about various cultures.

The museum has various historical artifacts as it was the house of the Kochi Royal family. The complex is huge and has various beautiful oil paintings and old coins.
