Once owned by MTDC, this serene resort is now a part of  the Golden Swan Group. Spread over an acre of land, this beautiful resort will not fail to impress you.  Just over 150 km from Mumbai, it is a great place for a short vacation. Murud-Janjira also has a very illustrious history as it was ruled by several dynasties such as the Marathas, the Portuguese and the Abyssinians.

The resort is divided into two parts with a total of 32 rooms. The main resort has Mediterranean style cottages and deluxe rooms, while the Beach House has Colonial style architecture with 5 different types of self-contained rooms. The food and service at Golden Swan Resort are very good, though the only problem seems to be the lack of amenities such as a swimming pool and beach activities. But there is no dearth of places to explore while in Murud-Janjira. There are several historical sites such as Janjira Fort, Nandgaon’s Ganpati Temple and many more that one can go to.

Tips:

If you have a vehicle, drive up to Idgah, which offers a beautiful view, especially for sunsets.

Bring your own activity items such as balls and other games.
