#1 Goa:

Goa is the best place in India to celebrate Christmas and New Year. Many tourist magazines around the world have ranked Goa in the Top 10 places in the world to celebrate the festivals. A lot of foreigners come to the area to have a great time on the sea side. Beaches like Anjuna, Mapusa and Candolim are immensely crowded because of the all night long parties that take place here. #2 Mumbai:

The financial capital of India also becomes one of the biggest party hubs during Christmas. The streets of the western suburbs, especially Bandra is festooned with lights. Spotting a Christmas tree on a sidewalk is a common sight. Mumbai has a large number of churches which are brightly decorated during the season. The shopping malls and restaurants of the city offers various discounts which adds to the fun of vising the place. Kerala is the perfect location to take your family on a religious Christmas tour. Throughout the state, many orthodox churches celebrate the festival with a lot of vigor. Christmas is not all about prayer in Kerala, many malls, shopping centers and public places have attractive stalls to celebrate the festival.

This hill station in the Himalayas is an amazing location to celebrate Christmas. A lot of hotel offer festival packages which include staying, parties and snow sports. As it snows moderately in this locality, one can spend a gala time with children building snow castles and indulging in snowball fights. People from all around the world come to this spot so its a good way to start the new year by meeting interesting people.

This North Eastern State has a high Christian population and hence they celebrate the festival with a lot of energy. The churches are decorated beautifully and you can see people celebrating on the street as well. A lot of local dance troupe perform during this time at certain events. Most churches have local bands playing gospel music. This location is not frequented by travelers during Christmas so it is the perfect place to enjoy the festival to the maximum without worrying about crowds.
