Geography of Goa
Goa is a small state located on the western coast of India. It’s surrounded by the Sahyadri Ghats (mountain range) on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west. It is bordered by Maharashtra to the north and Karnataka on the south and east.Area – around 3700 sq. kms.
Population – 1.5 million
Altitude – from sea level to about 1025 metres
Location – between latitude 15 48'00" North and 14 53'54" North and Longitudes 74 20'13" East and 73 40'33" East.
Major beaches – Calangute, Arambol, Anjuna, Candolim, Baga, Sinquerim and Vagator in the north. Majorda, Miramar and Colva in the central area and Benaulim, Agnoda, Cavelossim, Mobor and Palolem in the south
